The park will be part of a 3-billion-square-foot project that will include restaurants, hotels, as well as Universal Studios and DreamWorks theme parks.

Six Flags is expected to break ground on the park in 2009.

"This is a historic day for our company," Six Flags President and CEO Mark Shapiro said in a statement. "Expanding Six Flags beyond our current North American borders validates the growing strength and momentum of our brand."

"We now have the opportunity to create a world-class theme park destination that will allow guests from around the globe to experience Six Flags' unique combination of thrills and entertainment."

The project is a partnership between Six Flags Inc. and Tatweer, a member of Dubai Holding. This is the first Six Flags project to be developed outside North America.

Launching in March 2008, Six Flags Television will be the preeminent
interactive outdoor television networks. As guests wait in queue lines,
they will be presented with interactive entertainment and relevant content. Displayed on 45" plasma TVs, Six Flags Television allows guests to enjoy seamlessly integrated entertainment and promotions and will contain Bluetooth technology for instant downloads and exclusive music videos, text-n-win capabilities and ring tones.

Six Flags Radio:

Six Flags Radio is broadcasted throughout all 21 Six Flags parks and
will broadcast demographically and thematically-targeted content,
commercials and announcements.

Six Flags Print:

Home to the Park Map & Guides and daily schedules, Six Flags Print will
distribute over nine million pieces between April and October. This entity
is one of the most heavily distributed publications during this time
period.

Six Flags Outdoor:

Six Flags Outdoor is the newest in outdoor advertising. This arm of Six
Flags Media Networks will include rotational signage, Cool Media
Interactive Signage with Bluetooth capabilities. These signs are dispersed throughout each of our parks and will have the capability to illuminate and mist to cool you off on those hot days.

Six Flags Outdoor Spectacular:

Six Flags Outdoor Spectacular allows advertisers to display marquee
advertising throughout our parks. This includes parking, maingate, ride and venue entranceway signage as well as in-park promotional displays that give advertisers in-park real estate to display their products.

Six Flags Attraction Integration:

This arm of Six Flags Media Networks allows advertisers to display
signage on roller coasters, queue lines and water rides. Partners are able to take advantage of our unique park attractions and integrate them into their key advertising strategies.

Six Flags Experiential Marketing:

This component provides advertisers the opportunity to engage in
one-on- one interaction with guests. Examples of this form of marketing
throughout its parks include the Wii Experience, a hands-on interactive
gaming station for guests to enjoy their favorite Wii video games.

Six Flags Online:

SixFlags.com reaches more than 34 million unique users on an annual
basis. As part of the Six Flags Media Networks, advertisers will now have access to exclusive online promotional offerings, sweepstakes, banner media and streaming video commercials.

The Flash Pass system this year is completely brand new. Instead of scanning a series of boxes in order to enter the attraction, guests will now be able to simply reserve their attraction from their pager-like object. There will be no time limit on your reservation once your time has come up. The ride reservation will stay on the pager until you decide to use it.

In other general attractions, this year the park will be getting a new roller coaster entitled Tony Hawk's Big Spin. If you would like to know more about Tony Hawk's Big Spin, please look at the ride page as it will provide much more information. This attraction will be taking the general area of the USA Stage and Wildcatter site. Also, in the Adventure Theater, there will be a new presentation. It is entitled Fly Me To The Moon and features flies as they take an adventure to the moon. It is based off of a feature film that is set to come out this August. As far as entertainment, there will be a new major game coming to the park this year. It is a 3-Point Challenge and will be found by the Attitudes shop and Aquaman Splashdown.

The rides of Texas Giant, Titan, Mr. Freeze, and Batman: The Ride will be getting ride lockers this year. These lockers will be at a fee of $1.00 and is an overall attempt to prevent loose articles from being lost or stolen. You can place these articles in these lockers before you get onto the attraction to help eliminate these actions. These lockers are one-time-use only. Articles will not be allowed to be left on the ride dock once you have boarded the ride like you would have previously been able to do. It is safe to say that more ride lockers will probably appear within the next few years.

In the queue lines of some of the more major attractions will be new flat screen televisions. Along with these new televisions comes Six Flags Television. This is a network in which guests will be entertained and be shown relevant information while waiting in lines for some of the attractions. This new network will also feature a Bluetooth system in which will enable guests to access instant downloads, text and win sweepstakes, etc.

Shockwave is also going under a major retracking and is scheduled to reopen in April. This is a project that will span over the time of 3 years and is an attempt to save the landmark attraction in the park.

Cirque Dreams Coobrila will be coming back to the Time Warner Cable Ampitheater and is expected to have some new acts within the show. This will be occurring in the summer, such as last year. Also, brand new to the park, are brand new video production shows featured in the Majestic Theater and Southern Palace Theater. Tony Hawk's Big Spin, making its debut on opening day of Six Flags Over Texas' 47th season, will give riders the sensation of freestyle skateboarding as they sit facing one another in 4-person cars all decked out in skateboard motif! Riders will grab some serious airtime as they twist and turn in 360° rotations while grinding through two helixes, wild mouse turns, a camelback and much more on the rails of this 1,351-ft. steel coaster. Costing $6.5 million to build, Tony Hawk's Big Spin is designed to deliver a unique experience for guests each time, because the weight distribution of passengers will determine how each car spins along the track.

Offering a full extreme sports experience, Tony Hawk's Big Spin promises to be a unique, eye-catching addition to the Six Flags Over Texas landscape with the look and feel of a giant red-and-black skatepark. The queue line has also been specially designed, so guests will learn about the history of skateboarding and watch highlights of action sports on monitors and story panels as they prepare to board the ride. In addition, riders will be able to put themselves into the action, capturing their thrilling experience on a Tony Hawk's Big Spin DVD with the park's new CD Ride technology.

Tony Hawk was a professional skater at 14 and the #1 ranked vert skater in the world for 12 straight years. He has competed in 103 pro contests winning 73 of them while placing second in 19, earning him the best record in skateboarding history. He has won 16 X Games medals and is a four-time Kid's Choice and three-time Fox Teen Choice award winner. In addition, Tony Hawk is the creator and star of the hugely popular Boom Boom HuckJam tour that has been seen by standing room only crowds at
Six Flags theme parks across the country.

Tony Hawk's Big Spin stands at 53 ft., travels some 31 mph and will be located in the Boom Town section of the park. Families with younger children will find the ride's height requirement especially enticing, as Tony Hawk's Big Spin is suitable for kids at least 42" tall if they are riding with an adult, while kids 47" may ride alone.

Also on tap for the 2008 season is the return of the most talked-about show in the park's history, Cirque Dreams Coobrila! This Cirque Productions extravaganza, complete with extraordinary costumes, brilliant imagery and edge-of-your-seat performances, is back by popular demand beginning in June 2008.
